Question: Is there a problem if i made my laptop stand by for a long time?

I left my laptop stand by for a long time! Like about 12 to 14 hours! is there any problem if i do that. will it destroy my laptop?

No. The laptop will just eventually shut itself off. They will stay on standby for about 22-24 hours, then shut off to conserve power.

If you know earlier that u will not use for 10 - 15 hrs then better to shut down the laptop and if some apps are runnig and need them then just hibernate the lapi Join this it will provide you news about computers dignaj.com

Its not a big deal making your laptop idle or putting it into standby mode for long hours. Anyway, its already set to remain in the lowest power state possible while in such situations. And it takes some more seconds or minutes to retrieve the half done work. And that's not at all a problem since its all about the operating system.

The only thing it is most likely to affect is the life span of your laptop's battery. I don't know where people are getting their answers from that it may damage your hardware.....what a ridiculous notion. Putting a laptop on standby means stopping the vast majority of hardware from operating at all (please note I said majority, not all). Life span of the battery it may affect, but laptop in general? I don't think so.
