Do laptop stands really promote air flow to keep the pc cool or just marketing ploy?
They are not expensive but just wondering if it will really do anything good for my laptop.
Are laptop stands necessary?
are laptop stands necessary in order to eliminate the risk of overheating? i'm thinking about getting a macbook with the ilap but i'm not sure that i want to spend money on the ilap if i don't need it. what are you personal experiences with laptop stands and overheating? do you know of any alternatives? i heard books work well or even like a cookie rack or something

What are some good laptop stands?
I do note taking with my laptop and am currently using a rolodex metal laptop stand, but its not collapsible and kind of heavy. i'm looking for something similar, but lighter and that will fold flat, but still be just as sturdy for my job. ideas? i want something that has an adjustable angle as well.
With XP SP3, my laptop stands by when I shut off the power switch even though there's still some battery left!?
This only occurs when I have a battery which is not full. If my battery is full, it wouldn't cause problems. But when my battery has considerately some power left, like 50 %, WinXP still stands by when I shut off the power. It's not the alarms. And it would've hibernated if I enabled Hibernation. Any help? I want it to " stay alive" when I turn off the power switch and there's still some battery left.
Laptop stand good for laptop's health?
i have bought a laptop riser. but somewhere i come to know that it is not good for laptop's " health" . is it right?

Acer Laptop Stand By key Problem?
Now Before i explain my problem i will state a few things My Acer laptop drivers are up to dateMy acer laptop supports standy ByWhen I Click on Start Turn Of computer, i have the option stand by, and when i click on it my laptop does go into standby mode. The problem is that all acer laptops have a key function i.e Fn f7 which in my case is SUPPOSED to standy by the laptop, however all fn short cuts work apart from the stand by one, How come it dosn't do anything, i wait like 5 mins after i pressed it and still nothing happens............thanks in advanceIts Kool, Now, All i had to do is go to acer epower managment, and then tell it what to do when i press sleep button lol, i went to control panel power options nd instead of opening the windows based power options, it opened the acer one...Ahh Welll Mynaaa
What does the DATA (D:) drive on my laptop stand for?
I'm running out of room on my laptop and I'm wondering what the main purpose of my D drive is for. It has 32 gigs of free memory that I could use for better things my C drive only has one gig left ... is there any way I could access it? If so, even more importantly, will it cause my programmes to not run?

I have a laptop that is 17 inches its about 12 by 19 but with my mouse i would need something length wise around 22 inches. Anyone know of any stands i could get i would prefer a board of sometime instead of a tablei dont want a desk i want to be able to recline on my bed or couch

i need a laptop stand that i can use on my bed and on my lap. when i use my laptop i usually raise it with my knee on the side where the fan isnt blowing, it gets reallllllllllly hot. i need the best laptop stand, thanks.
