Acer laptop stand by key problem?

Question: Acer laptop stand by key problem?

(Posted by: Sxc G on 2008-05-25 09:51:10)

Now Before i explain my problem i will state a few things: My Acer laptop drivers are up to date My acer laptop supports standy By When I Click on Start Turn Of computer, i have the option stand by, and when i click on it my laptop does go into standby mode. The problem is that all acer laptops have a key function i.e [Fn + f7] which in my case is SUPPOSED to standy by the laptop, however all fn short cuts work apart from the stand by one, How come it dosn't do anything, i wait like 5 mins after i pressed it and still nothing happens............ thanks in advance Its Kool, Now, All i had to do is go to acer epower managment, and then tell it what to do when i press sleep button lol, i went to control panel power options nd instead of opening the windows based power options, it opened the acer one...Ahh Welll Mynaaa

Firstly try uninstalling the driver relating to the acer function keys. Then download and insall the Launch Manager/ emanager drivers from the website. I don't see why some of the function keys work but one doesn't, but thats what I'd try. Failing that, could just be something they forgot to program into the laptop. The key could be assigned to nothing.
