Torn between Sony Vaio, HP, and Macbook Pro. Which laptop is best and worth it's pricetag?
I've done a little browsing around best buys and found these 3 computers as my most likely to buy for university use. I'm in BSc, need it for Word, Powerpoint, and internet mainly, with some other home use capabilities like Video and photo editing, and I'd like it to last long at least 3 years and be stable sturdy. Price doesn't matter, as long as it is worth it, in my opinion.Below I wrote all the specs that I think are important for my uses Graphics don't really matter, and they all have similar wireless capabilities, and weights . Why don't i have an ip address on my laptop?
I have a dell inspiron B130 laptop that is about 5 years old and recently it was recieving poor internet connection, so I decided to disconnect from the wireless internet and try to reconnect, but when I went to reconnect, it would not let me. So I tried repairing my connection, but it didn't work because it was unable to renew my ip address. So I used the command prompt to see what my ip address was, and it was all zeroes, i don't know why this is and i dont know if it is the reason my computer can't connect to the internet. Does anyone know why this is happening??? i am willing to system restore if need be, please help
Which type of internal hard drive do I buy for this laptop?
Someone gave me this laptop laptops.toshiba.com laptops satellite U400 U405D S2874 for free, and they said " all it needs is a new internal hard drive" , So my question is, can someone direct me to where to buy a hard drive that is compatible with this computer? I don't know much about computers, but the person also said they lost the OS disk and the drivers disk, so how do I get those as well? Will they come already installed on a new hard drive or what? Please help me out, thank you. Details or tutorials are appreciated. Thanks a lot.Can you recommend a HD for around $50 80? What about the drivers? And to install Linux would I just burn it to a disk or what?

my brother has this awesome lap top, and his retarded self had the 'bright idea' to turn his windows into a mac... wtf? yeah.. i know... well anyway he downloaded something and I need the recovery disk to fix it. Well he lost the recovery disk and said I could just have it if I could fix it. I just need the recovery disk, so is there a way I can buy or download one?it now says operating system not found. omg windows xpf8 and f11 dont work. i was on the phone with tech support for almost an hour.

I have an Acer laptop and I cannot turn it on. When I open it up and click the power button, the screen stays black but the light does turn blue. How can I get it to turn on???? Did I maybe do something to it? If so, what did I do?

The Serial Number on Laptop erased overtime. Help!?
My laptop is about 3 years old now so the Serial Number on the bottom of the computer erased. Does anyone know how to find it other than the sticker at the bottom? I also looked on the Gateway supports page and could not find anything. BTW please don't give me the BELARC link. lol. THANK YOU
