If my laptop is default 802.11n can it connect to my wireless network that is normally 802.11g or do i have to change settings how would i do this Basically my laptop cannot find my wireless network and i have no clue why. my brother has a laptop and connects with no problem please help FYI my laptop is brand new

You probably have vista. so go to network and sharing, add a wireless network connection and just follow the wizard.

Yes, N is backwards compatible. Just do what the first poster said - use the setup wizard to add a new network.
