How can i connect usb keyboard to laptop?

Question: How can i connect usb keyboard to laptop?

(Posted by: arian a on 2010-02-08 20:12:16)

I have a separate keyboard that I need to connect to my laptop. I have the right USB adaptor for this purpose and the keyboard worked fine the last time I connected it. However this is not the case now. When I connect the USB connector the keyboard lights come up but then it just does not react to anything. Are there any settings or other clever things I can check? thanks everyone!

Hmm.. i'm not too familiar with this area, but as if you were to connect a regular USB flash drive, connect the keyboard (of course) and click on 'My computer' or 'Computer' there should be a new drive there that is the keyboard. This is the same for all flash drives, floppy disks, cds, dvds, etc. Highlight the keyboard on that menu, right click and there should be something to run the keyboard correctly. Hopefully I helped.

Try rebooting the laptop with the keyboard plugged in. If that doesn't work, you'll need to open Device Manager, delete the keyboard, and reboot to let Windows re-discover it. Good luck!

It means that your keyboard area opf laptop has been distroyed so you need to attach external keyboard. So you need to probably install the keyboard first
