How can i fix my hp mini laptop?

Question: How can i fix my hp mini laptop?

(Posted by: on 2010-03-09 18:22:20)

So I have an HP mini laptop with Windows XP on it. I have had it for a little over a year now. Earlier today all of these popups started telling me my system had been hijacked and tried to get me to download something. I didn't of course. However I tried to restart the thing and now it won't go past the screen that will either let me start it in safe mode or regular mode. I choose one and it immediately loops around goes back to the screen. Any help is greatly appreciated.

An HP mini is NOT a laptop. There is nothihng physically wrong with it. Your issue is 1 not surfing safely and 2 software corruption, NOT broken hardware Run your antivirus program in safe mode. You may be in for an operating system reinstall

Unfortunately it looks like you downloaded from a site you probably should not have. You will most likely have to format the drive and reinstall windows and all you drivers. Good luck.

Well if it wont start up at all there is only one thing you can do and its dreaded if you have important files on it. Its a system restore which you can do on start up. Restart your system and and hit f10 continuously until a system restore thing comes up then you will have a bunch of options just hit restore system to factory settings and wait for it to get done (which takes up to 10 minutes to a hour depending on system). Hopefully you have all important files backed up. Or you can take it to a geek and pay money for it to be fixed And a word of advice dont ever buy a mini again they are worthless peices of crap

You may not have to do a complete install, IF you set up a admin you can do a repair after starting the disk go through the steps till you come to the point where you do a complete install or repair you will need the admin password for this so have it handy then follow the prompts
