Help finding a new laptop?

Question: Help finding a new laptop?

(Posted by: snowboarder on 2010-03-10 21:12:40)

So need to get a new laptop looking to spend about 1000 dollars. Not really particular with any brand i know for that price i can get the entry level mac book. I've heard that Toshiba's are the most reliable PC. but i don't know anything about computers for certain so what are some suggestions you might have? thanks the main things i will use my computer for are internet research, word, power point, excel, managing digital picture, and itunes. I do watch instant netflix so it does need to be able to stream video without flaw because it drives me nuts when my current laptop skips. and hopefully a fairly long battery life hoping for 5+ hrs also i don't really know anything about computers except how to use them. so i need one with minimal maintence. need something i can just use and not worry about that it will always be the same as date of purchase.

I suggest you to go for Dell. Its the best you can get. Lateral thoughts on HP and Toshiba

Well I'm not a big mac fan so ordinarily I wouldn't recommend them but if your not into maintaining your computer much and just want to use it for media related things I would go with the mac. If your at all into gaming and not really tech savvy I would say no to it though because although you can run games on it it requires installing windows via bootcamp which is a tad advanced. Toshiba makes good laptops although I would lean more towards Asus. They aren't the most well known brand but I have owned several laptops from them that have all been very good quality and reliable. For 1000 you have many options so make sure you do your research. Make sure you analyze your needs too. If your just going to browse the web and listen to music theres no point in getting a 1000 dollar laptop.
