Choosing A Laptop Homepage

Question: My sims 2 won't load - is it the cd or the laptop?

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7. I've played Sims 2 on my old Vista laptop before so it should work, right? Anyway, I insert the disk. It goes thru the auto run, but nothing pops up? I tried to manually play the disk by going into 'My Computer' , but that didn't work either. When I click on the 'Setup' Icon, a message on the screen asks to change some things on the computer to make it work, I click yes. But it still doesn't work. It also says that the Publisher is unknown, should it say that? Also, my laptop has a DVD/ CD rom thing. I've tried cleaning it until it shines, but it still doesn't work. Would the Virus Protector have something to do with it?

That happens to me to with my sims 3 i have to shutdown and restart my laptop hope this helps you

Actually, your DVD/ CD rom thing is a DVD-RW Burner that you can make CDs and DVDs with. The simplest thing to do when that happens is to take some windex and a paper towel. Spray the paper towel and clean the CD until it shines. It probably is covered in fingerprints. That makes it difficult or impossible for the drive to read it.
