Question: How long should my laptop battery last?

My laptop battery, fully charged, lasts about an hour. It's only a year old. This is when I'm just surfing the internet, not playing games, etc. Usually I turn down the screen brightness too. Is it time for a new battery or is this normal?

If its a PC thats what happens...my PC before i switched to macs crashed completely after 10 months if its a mac take it to apple they might replace the battery for free if you have the warranty

Its normal for a lithium Ion battery, it loses its charge over time, don't leave it plugged inn too long, you need to discharge and recharge it about once a week to lower the amount ost. It has nothing to do with it being a Mac or PC.

That is not normal for most modern laptops. The only kind of laptops that may run out of battery charge in an hour will be heavy gaming rigs. Check the battery with the manufacturer.

It's common in most batteries that they lose there charge over time. The reason why it might lost it's charge is if you charge it when the battery is already fully charge. When it is charging while the battery is fully charged the power of the battery will actually diminish because it is use to having that extra power.
