Question: Which is better for the laptop--shut down or hibernate?

I know that if my laptop is hibernating it consumes no power at all (i've tested it before)

You should shut down at least occasionally to clear the memory.

Shutting down is better as it preserves the battery for longer times on the long run.

Hibernation can be very helpful for a laptop, but its recommend to shutdown your pc at least once a week. i think u should only hibernate if you really want to resume an ongoing project or something like that otherwise you should shut down I shut down 3 times a day

Hibernating a computer will still means using some power would still means your computer is on. complete shutdown would also be much best.
