Question: Why don't i have an ip address on my laptop?

I have a dell inspiron B130 laptop that is about 5 years old and recently it was recieving poor internet connection, so I decided to disconnect from the wireless internet and try to reconnect, but when I went to reconnect, it would not let me. So I tried repairing my connection, but it didn't work because it was unable to renew my ip address. So I used the command prompt to see what my ip address was, and it was all zeroes, i don't know why this is and i dont know if it is the reason my computer can't connect to the internet. Does anyone know why this is happening??? i am willing to system restore if need be, please help!!!

This can happen if your wireless connection is having interference from any sort of radio signal, microwave etc, If you have access to the router from which your wireless signal comes from, try rebooting it, you can also boost the signal by getting a stronger aftermarket antenna for your router. Also I know it sounds stupid but try rebooting your laptop.
