Question: Compaq laptop screen went black?

Ok so i have a compaq laptop i turn it on and you cansee the hardrive workin and everythin works but the screen it went black all of a sudden couple of weeks ago.. last time i was outside in the sun i turned it on and i could c the log in screen its as if the screen light doesnt work anyone know how i can fix it myself or what i need to get to fix it?? it has windows vista bought it like 6months ago

Probably a bad LCD screen. If its older it will be harder to replace. Good luck!

Yes, the backlight is broken. It could be just a loose wire, or could be more serious. Your best bet is to take it to a professional to fix. It's a standard repair.

I agree, depending on the age, the ribbon cable between the screen and board could also be broken.
