Question: I have an emachines laptop computer and the touch-pad quit working. what can i do to fix it or can i?

Update driver and if it does not work try searching for a laptop repair shop around your city and give them a call they can give you an estimate.

Are you sure that you didn't just turn it off by mistake? Look for a physical ON/ OFF switch for the touchpad, either near the pad itself, or an icon in one of the F keys. If there's an icon on your keyboard that looks like a rectangle with a finger and the "STOP " symbol, then that's it. If it's in the row of F keys, you probably have to press "Fn " plus that F key to activate/ deactivate the touchpad.
