Question: How can i tell if laptop still has a blue ray drive?

I was given a laptop that had a blue ray dvd drive ( sticker says ). The person who had it before, may have swapped the drive out. How can I tell if its a blue ray drive? The laptop was reformatted, operating system=vista ultimate. When I put a blue ray movie it only opens it as files. Does not seem to play back up dvd but does play original dvd movies. I updated drivers to see if drive would see blue ray discs but no luck. Drive shows up as :DVD RW Drive(G) when a blue ray movie is in the drive it shows up like: DVD RW Drive(G) LOGICAL_VOLUME_ID. Under the drive properties it says MATSHITA BD- MLT UJ- 220S ATA under Device Device type: DVD/ CD- ROM drives manufacture: (standard CD- ROM drives) Location:Location 0 (channel 0, Target 0, Lun 0) |
