Is my laptop overheating? or what?

Question: Is my laptop overheating? or what?

(Posted by: on 2012-01-28 01:03:09)

My laptop has no viruses (or at least it says), and whenever i play a video game like The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, it sometimes goes into a weird mode where the screen will change different colors and then sometimes it will kick back on and say my display drivers have stopped and not responded, or i will have to shut the laptop off because of it. I use a heating pad, i don't use it on my lap, and it is put at an angle. I don't know if it's just overheating, or if there is a different much more severe problem. The different colored screen and display driver shut down only occur when I am playing a game. If you have answers that would be wonderful :)! All of my drivers are updated and it still does the same thing, and i dont know why :P.

Try updating your drivers. It sounds like a heat/ voltage issue... Have you overclocked or undervolted your computer? If not then it could just be faulty. Feel the bottom of your computer is it hot? does air blow out from the fan? You might be lucky and it just be bad drivers. For more questions try anycomputer.web.officelive.com

Your video card might be overheating or not capable of playing said game, try lowering the video setting and see if it helps.
