Question: How to un freeze microsoft word on my mac laptop?

I want to say my work cause i typed up SOO SOO much and its frozen and that evil rainbow thing keeps appearing on it. how do i quit/ un freeze it but save my work?

Hold the mouse button down on the Word icon in the dock. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose Force Quit. If you have autosave turned on in Word preferences (Word > Preferences > Save > Save AutoRecover info every 10 minutes) then the first time you open Word after force quitting Word will automatically open the AutoRecover file. The question is, why is Word freezing? It usually does not. Make sure you have updated Word (Help > Check for Updates).
