Are you accessing the internet via Airport? If yes, do you have good signal strength? How much memory (ram) do you have? Open System Profiler and check if your computer is recognizing all of the memory in your computer. If System Profiler says you have less memory than you know is installed, it's possible a memory stick has worked loose or failed. Start up your Macbook with the system disk and run Disk Utility and verify the disk. If Disk Utility finds a problem, click Repair to fix the problems. After the disk is repaired, verify the disk again to be sure all disk problems are fixed. It's possible you will need to repair the disk more than once. You may have a background process running that is using up all of the processor power. Try starting up in Safe Mode and see if you still have the problem. If not, you may have some program running at start-up that you can remove to improve performance. |
