Question: If i sold my imac back to apple, could i use that money to buy a mac laptop?

I was thinking... the iMacs they have now are more expensive than the laptops. my iMac is about 4- 5 years old maybe older and it works fine but its kind of slow and sometimes it freezes. i know u can sell back your imac to apple and get money for it... how much money would i get and could i get enough to buy a laptop?
