Malware taken over mini laptop?

Question: Malware taken over mini laptop?

(Posted by: Joshua S on 2010-08-27 23:37:07)

I have a malware virus that started as rogue anti virus. I have repeatedly run malwarebytes and super anti spy ware. Both of them detect the malware and remove it but not really, as it keeps coming back on each daily scan. The malware has now blocked me from using system restore, safe mode and wont load task manager. I cannot get rid of this thing. I even manually removed it from registry but it continues to return. I have a mini laptop that came loaded with windows xp and has no cd drive so I cant even delete xp and add it back. Suggestions? This is an HP mini 110. Thanks for the answers everyone

Do you have a restore partition? The PC maker will provide instructions for reinstalling XP.

Malware Ant-Bytes Download this and Install it to your pc Restart your PC into SAFEMODE Open the Malware Anti-Bytes application and choose to UPDATE Run a FULL SCAN of your PC Once the malware is found and removed - Restart your PC _________________________________ "The malware has now blocked me from using system restore, safe mode and wont load task manager " Download RE-ENABLE Get it here: softpedia.com/ get/ PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/ System/ Re-Enable-Portable.shtml

You can load windows onto a flash drive. just make sure its FAT formatted and you can reinstall windows off of that. you really got yourself a fiesty bit of malware there! I would double check to see if there is a restore partition on your hard disk. to boot off of it, try pressing f8 or f12 and select the windows recovery utility

What Make and model laptop have you got. If you want to do a complete recovery we can probably help.Your laptop will almost certainly have a recovery software partition You will have to backup your personal data as that will go added data:-From the HP web site F11 should enter you into recovery manager. Keep pressing F11 during the HP logo display at early load time. Recovery manager can be accessed while XP is running by clicking on START,,,ALL PROGRAMS and selecting RECOVERY MANAGER. read the following web page from HP h10025.www1.hp.com/ ewfrf/ wc/ document?lc= en &dlc= en &cc= us &product= 4041502 &docname= c00608578 and go down to the Reinstalling the Operating system Again make sure that you backup all your personal data you do not want to lose
