Question: Question about netbooks or mini laptops..?
(Posted by: on 2010-08-31 21:11:08)
I decided I want to have a netbook for christmas. I don't know what the proper name but they are like mini laptops. I know christmas is ages away but time does fly quickly sometimes. However, are netbooks good? on netbooks/ mini laptops can you go on msn/ Windows Live messenger and microsoft word?? Does anyone have a netbook and know the cons and pros about having a netbook? I don't know what to decide. Or maybe I should get a laptop instead? Any suggestions? Please help? Just want a netbook or laptop for msn and microsoft and listening to music and which is fast. That's all I want really. |

Well Jen It depends on what you want. A netbook is mainly for internet purposes. They're conveniently small so you can take them wherever there's wifi and have internet access. Yes you can go on word, MSN, itunes, and anything you want to put on it just like a laptop. Although they have small hard drives, little memory, and not many other things like more than 2 USB ports. Now a laptop has much more capacity to store music, videos, games, and programs, also goes on the internet, has a bigger screen, and will be faster than a netbook. Now I know laptops aren't cute but it can be hard typing on that small netbook keyboard too ;) Netbooks are good but I'm sure you'd be much happier with a full on laptop. |

Laptops are definitely more powerful than netbooks for example if you want to do gaming or if you want to run heavy programs. However for day to day usage netbooks themselves can run all the programs that a normal laptop can and are completely fine. |

You can call theme whatever you want, but netbook is the most generally accepted term. they can easilly do MSN and word and IE or firefox at the same time. The cons are A: small screen B: 3d games made after 2000 or so will not run, but most before that will (sims, roller coaster tycoon, etc.) C: i can't really think of one honestly. there small and light, easy to carry, as long as you keep your windows install light or use linux there pretty fast, they can play full screen video from youtube hulu or netflix, they can do photo editing programs, its easy to get used to the small keyboard. for me at least the netbook is the laptop done right, if i wanted a bit screen and a lot of processing power i would use my desktop. there single core 1.6 ghz though, so if you want a heavy anti-virus and get allot of spyware and and have a really slow windows install it will be very very slow, but keeping it minimal its pretty fast. |

One month ago, I bought a Sony mini laptop for my grandfather. Because I hope him surf the Net to spend his spare time and contact with person all over the world. I bought it from web topons.com It is running good, I actually like some of other Sony mini laptops. Sincerely Recommand you have a try! Most of all, there are many choices for you to choose. |
