What is the most reliable laptop brand?

What would be the most reliable laptop brand that would survive about 3-5 years?
the way i would be using it daily use just surfing the web watching ALOT of videos, playing a lil bit of games for example maplestory. So the laptop would be on for a long period day after day. oh and also PLEASE DONT MENTION anything that has to do with HP i hate on it lol.these 3 are the ones people say are reliable and that are long lasting brands Asus,Toshiba, Sony, and i think Dell. Btw looking for something under 600 AND IVE SEEN ALL OF THESE UNDER 600 BEFORE SO DONT SAY " if your on a budget than stop looking at Sony." TY xD

What is the most reliable laptop brand?
My 2 year old HP Pavilion died, so I'm not interested in HP the Pavilions had a bad reputation anyway didn't find that out until mine died, of course . I did buy a Toshiba a Satellite L655 because I'd heard they were sturdy and I'm getting ready to do some extensive traveling the HP pretty much stayed at home. But the Toshiba has a problem with the fan staying on for long periods of time even when the machine isn't hot and I do have a cooling mat for mine . A search on this problem led me to the Toshiba forum where I discovered it's a known issue that Toshiba is either unable or unwilling to fix.I've had this Toshiba only a week, so I could return it, but it will cost me 15 % in restocking fees. I need to get more information on the fan problem, but while I'm doing that I thought I'd also ask here for your opinions experience on the reliability of other brands in case I do end up returning this Toshiba. In case it helps to know I use spreadsheet and database software and also occasionally word processing. I work some with images for my jewelrymaking which I hope to be turn into a business soon, but I'm not doing anything complicated I use Paint and Irfanview for image manipulation. And I spend a fair amount of time online, occasionally with several tabs open at once. I don't do music or video production and I don't play games that require sophisticated graphics or sound.I have no preferences when it comes to platform. I've been using computers for almost 25 years first PCs, then Macs, and now back to PCs. I was actually really impressed with the longevity of my last Mac it was 13 when I donated it to Goodwill I had to switch to PCs after that for financial reasons, but I would buy another Mac if they didn't cost so much I know they're available used, but I'm reluctant to buy a used computer.I haven't mentioned my budget yet. I'm not currently making much, but I do have some savings, and a computer's an important part of my life. I guess I could say that while I could go up to $1000 I'd love to keep this as low as possible especially considering I'll lose about $100 if I return the Toshiba.First, thank you so much for all the answers so far I'm amazed that there are so many, and I really appreciate the thought you've put into them. I'm going to spend more time reading them tomorrow it's very late here .I do have a question. I've never heard of Alienware or XPS. I'll research them tomorrow, but if anyone here can tell me more especially of your own experience with them that would be great. To the person who suggested the HP Pavilion Please read the first two lines I wrote in my original question. To the " helpful" people providing affiliate links Don't trouble yourself. For all I know, you don't have any experience with what you're promoting and are just trying to make a sale which won't work, I'll probably buy locally. And besides, I'm pretty sure those links are not allowed here.WEDNESDAY 12 15 ADDITION OK, I'm getting tired of the affiliate links especially when I've already specifically requested that they be left out. From now on, anyone who puts one of these in their answer will be reported to Yahoo as a spammer.
