Should I upgrade or buy a new laptop?
I have this COMPAQ presario V3000 laptop that is 7 years old which works fine but really slow 1.66GHz , 504MB RAM .Should I upgrade this old laptop or buy a new one?
Windows won't allow new laptop hard drive?
Trying to install a new hard drive in a Dell 1440 Inspiron as old one failed. I am getting a message when doing Windows setup that says technical error and hard drive either has virus or not configured right. This is a new hard drive, so not a virus. Do, I need to change something in the Bios since this is a new hard drive form a different company? It is a SATA just like the old one though. I no longer get failed hard drive message during diagnostics on the new drive, and the BIOS does see the new drive. I am wondering if some setting is off or something? Any ideas appreciated, does not seem like a motherboard issue yet.
Should I buy a new laptop?
My laptop is the Inspiron 1720 and it has recently unfortunately had an error. I called dell tech support and they told me the error meant I needed a new hard drive which costs about $80. But honestly I don't know if I want to spend that money on and old laptop or just sell it for whatever I can and save up for a bit and maybe get the Inspiron 15r or 17r?

What's cheaper: a new laptop screen or getting stuff off the HDD of a broken laptop?
the screen on my laptop broke and I was wondering if it would be cheaper to fix the screen than it would be to have someone retrieve files from the hdd?
Why can't I download itunes to my new laptop?
I have just bought a new HP laptop and for some reason it's not letting my download itunes onto my laptop. It will allow me to download some software such as " iCloud" or " quicktime" but when it actually comes down to installing itunes, it won't let me. I get a message " The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation. Your system has not beem modified." I'm not all that computer savvy, can someone please tell me what this means and how to fix it?

I also wanted to get 8GB of RAM but I couldn't find this laptop on crucial. Could anyone tell me what type of RAM I would need?Oh sorry I didn't realize. Computer programs for new laptop?
im about to get a new Sony Vaio and im excited never had a new computer that was mine. so what programs applications should i put on it thats VIRUS FREE? my old one broke with an unknown cause.1. music probably itunes and a converter or something to download it, maybe Vdownloader? is that safe?2. a player to watch DVDs or is there some default thing for that?3. Firefox since its faster and easier4. used to have ConvertXtoDVD4 to burn movies? is it safe?5. is utorrent or bittorrent safe virus free? which is the smallest best P2P?6. add anything youd recommend for me i like movies& music.Please INSTEAD of telling me something is illegal, tell me some ALTERNATIVES that are free.Thanks
Help with buying a new laptop?
I was looking around for a decent laptop and i came across this one on amazon amazon.com ASUS N56VZ ES71 15 6 Inch Laptop Black dp B007Z92SJUBut after searching around for a bit, i can't seem to find a review on this one and this product really gives me big doubts. For example in the product overview section it says this comes with a 1080p display, but below in the product details section it says its a 1366x768 display. And another smaller one is the gpu, i'm pretty sure its a gt 650m with 2GB memory, but in the details sections it says 200mb, now obviously that's not realistic, but these errors seems to be telling me to either back off or take your chances. Any suggestion?Btw the model is ASUS N56VZ ES71
