Overheated laptop causing damage?
I accidentally left my laptop on in sleep mode in it's case for about 10 hours today. When I found it, the fan was in overdrive and the laptop was extremely hot to the touch... it doesn't appear to be having any issues, but I wanted to ask someone, anyone, what happens to a computers when it gets that hot...Thanks for your responses... I'm not sure why it did that as I thought putting it into sleep mode would prevent it from needing to run any necessary 'pieces and parts' inside the laptop that would generate any kind of heat... I'll be taking all of your advice. o

Can overheating laptop cause it to crash?
Hi, I put my Dell Inspiron on my bed with like sheets and blankets and it crashed. So I started it again, it'd start for 10 seconds and then it'd crash. I tried it again.. It crashed. I then placed it on a table, let it cool off for 2 minutes and I put my fan on to cool it down. I then opened it and it had to diagnose the problem THEN it started. Can my laptop overheat and crash? I've only had it since last november. I take really good care of it too Thank you p.s. it's fine now and it's not hot at all.. It's nice and cool
