Overheating laptop, solutions?
Hi I have this laptop, probably 3 to 4 years old.It started overheating for a while, making rendering or doing anything, exceedingly slow, if not dangerous.So my solution was to take all of the removable covers off and plug the laptop on a base with fans. The problem is, its manageable now with the fans, but even though, its still above what I'd like it to be as compared to my friend's laptop.This notebook has endured alot of hardship, its my old workhorse, but I hope this can be handled by some handy work.Noteworthy facts I've installed the 2gig of RAM in there and that's as much as it can take. The CPU fan is rather dirty from eyesight, While I've taken this laptop apart to service it, the CPU fan and CPU connection is pretty darn deep down.Any worthwhile easy solutions for cleaning the CPU fan or, in any other case, lowering the laptop temperature?Best Alex
