What pc laptop brands are good?
I purchase a hp nothing but issue. I return it for a sony. I wonder if sony is good. I don't know what the difference between amd intel.. Intel pentium and centrino with duo core 2. I got the sony nr180e and return the hp 6604 with amd athlon. I have a macbook already so please don't say mac. This was to replace my pc desktop. Laptop are more in the desktop for portability. I am confused between amd and intel the core stuff. Please help. Best brand. Hp is techies are idiot. My dvd will not play wiht quick play when the computer boots up and they tell me it a regional code then when i purchase and dvd in the usa for usa. They say it could be a foriegn region code. One guy to me to redo my computer after I had it just a few days. The computer lags maybe because of amd athlon so I switch to duo core. Also another hp rep gave me link to dvd web cam when I want to play dvd. So I don't think that they would be good. No recovery disk only from d drive partiton. That so cheapy and sucks.
Top three PC laptop brands in your opinion/experience?
i'm going to college and am currently laptop shopping. unfortunately, i'm the kind of person that HAS to do extensive research and this has left me wondering not only which laptop model,but which laptop brand to choose. i can't quite decide, so i've resolved to see what a popular answer on here is and browse the laptop selections from that company.while price is a factor for me, i'm willing to pay an extra couple hundred if it means a laptop brand that will last me longer and work better. please note i said PC i'm just not a mac person.

I'm starting to save up for a new computer. I plan on using it for general use, basic programming, burning copying cd's, and downloading various programs.Why would i get a $1000 macbook when i could get a $500 dell that has better specs?

What are some good gaming PC/Laptop brands?
I have always wanted to play high powered pc online games with ease, for example Second Life, The Sims 2... but they are never usually laptop friendly, unless you buy a specific gaming brand, and also even though I have upgraded my PC for it, it's still not perfect. Does anyone know any good desktop PC's or laptops for playing games like that? Price isn't an issue since I'm just interested in looking around at the moment, not going to actually get one for a while. I'd prefer a laptop, but desktops are good too Please help.P.S. If anyone has any tips for upgrading the PC I already have, that would be great too. Graphics card suggestions, and how much RAM I might need to make these games run smoothly... anything else I'm missing, any suggestions are good

Okay, so I'm thinking of getting a laptop. Scratch that, I am getting a laptop. The thing is, I'm getting jumbled opinions from everyone I know on which brand to buy from. My PC(laptop brand) web camera wont work/show up?
My PC has the web camera and all and there was even a button for using the web camera but when i click on the button, something called 'Camera Assistant Software' pops up with the choices of selecting 'Version Information', 'Camera Assistant Software', and 'UVC 1.7.133.0411'. I have tried clicking all of them, one by one not at the same time . Yet nothing pops up. At all. Even if i click anywhere else, the camera assistant software closes thats normal and nothing pops up.How do i get this to work? Ive been wanting to webcam with my friends.Please and thankyou Don the laptop, it says Toshiba, Satellite, Windows Vista, Turion64x2, and Dolby.Not sure what that is but i know that i have windows vista. this is just so you have an idea on what it is. P
