I want to purchase a quiet laptop because my current one is super loud does any one have any suggestions?
I currently have an hp zd8000 17" screen and its really rigged for gaming.
What laptop features do i need to look at if i want a quiet laptop? or a long battery life?
if i only wanted it to be quiet, then what features would i need to look at? if i only wanted a long battery life, then what features should i need to look at? for ex. processor, battery type, RAM etc.
Who makes a truly quiet laptop..? my Dell Inspiron has always had a very loud fan, I can't even watch a DVD.

The shop does not provide info about how much noise a laptop makes and I am quite sensitive to it. I don't ask for much but it's got to be quiet and an apple mac notebook is too expensive I use it for everyday stuff MS Word Excel, internet, Yahoo messenger, lots of music. I would like bluetooth, wireless internet and more than one usb port. I am thinking about a Dell but Acer is very commonly available here. What do you think?

Well I am looking into buying a laptop, because I enjoy lounging in front of the telly on Saturdays watching something and surfing the web, not rushing upstairs to chat during the breaks. And I am ideally looking for a cheap one Under not much over 400 in the UK that we could buy online or in a store. I'd like it to be small and not that heavy, and I had my eye on the Acer Aspire One but it's not really for a student. I also wouldn't mind it to be shiiiiny, cos they look real pretty when they're shiny Also, could I throw in and ask for one that is quiet and doesn't sound like a drill with it's fan? My mum has a Dell laptop that's a few years old and it's noisy as heck So yeah, sorry if I'm asking for too much. S And I would use it mostly everyday for internet surfing, msn, online games, stuff like that. Oh and for my YouTube addiction too, of course.I might go for the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, is it good?

The an is very loud, nothings wrong with it. It's just loud.
