Are Portable Universe any good for refurbished laptops?
I'm looking to buy a cheap Macbook white for the good battery life and general OS X experience but don't want to spend more than 500. I've come across a UK based site called Portable Universe and they are apparently well known for selling refurbished laptops. Has anyone ordered from this site before? Can i trust a factory refurbished laptop? Would it be better to buy a new or refurbished macbook pro 13in.?
im in high school looking for a laptop to take with me to college and also to have around the house. money doesnt come easy to me and is going to take me a long time to get up to the $1200 price tag of the macbook pro. I noticed that some items from apple say " factory refurbished" i know it comes out cheaper and would be nice to bring down the price as much as possible but can i trust a " refurbished" item. I dont want to go wrong... especially if im going to be paying a large sum of cash to get it. Or would it be better off to just get a brand new one and not have to worry about any problems the laptop might have after being faulty and then being fixed? I know there are many other computers for as much as $500 cheaper but i also make music on the side and i hear mac has the right software to get me started. Thats the main reason why im willing to pay the extra money instead of purchasing a $200 software package that is more dificult to use....Would greatly apreciate any advice and help i could get

i only use computers for shopping, facebook, youtube and downloading movies and i really dont want to spend over 300. but then i heard laptops dont last long? or do they? i guess they're would be negatives but are they outweighed by all the good stuff? what do u think?

so, i bought a refurbished gently used compaq hp laptop. its very nice... windows 7, and all the nice tec specs... and they assured me it had a built in webcam.. and i thought it did too. but when i brought it home i realized there was a tiny hole where the webcam had been taken out. if i brought it back to them, would they be able to fix it? i know they didnt mean to do this.. theyre a very trusted company. i really want that webcam soo.... is it possible that they could reinstall it back into my new laptop?
