I break things very easy and I've had an EEEPC and broke it once already it got mended and I sold it and now I'm looking for something to replace it with.I found the panasonic toughbook but the only ones of those I can afford are quite old. So I don't know wether to go for a gaming laptop, a tablet pc or what would be made with endurance in mind. I dont do anything that mad with them, but I am constantly travelling with them.

My brother just got accepted to the coast guard and I want to give him one as a combination ship out birthday gift. He lives the type of lifestyle that is pretty hard on his electronics and I can't imagine joining the coast guard will be any easier on them I want something with some power but can also stand up to abuse elements.The absolute most I can scrape together is $2000. Bonus points the closer to $1000 we can get though.

A few of the technicians here wouldn't even carry it around because they said it was too heavy to which I replied, then you obviously don't need it badly enough but I did, so I carried it all week and it wasn't too bad .
Does anyone know of a fully rugged Laptop Hard Drive that withstands extreme cold?
All I find these days are 41 degree hard drives, I will be working outside in sub zero weather with a toughbook CF 28. It takes a PATA 44 PIN interface.Thanks in advance.
