Hey buddy i will recommend u to try for dell laptops costing around 40,000 dont go for sony if u want sony than go for a higher range laptops. and about your stastical work better check the requirement of the softwares that u will use and buy accord to that.

If you want a laptop for research purpose then you can go for Dell Laptops and if you want that your laptop should look different from others hen you can try out skins from decalskin.com/ site! You will get a lot of varieties!

There are many good experts here who are working with many companies and give good information regarding this issue. I think there are many models which suits your needs in better price and want to know the type of research too.

This one looks pretty good: sony.com.au/ product/ vgn-aw47gh Sony doesn't have a very large range at the moment, it might be worth waiting out for another few months till they start their i5 / i7 ranges. They will be compatible with statistical software as they run Win 7, but no laptop today comes with photo editing features or software built in, unless you get a tablet computer, which are far more expensive.
