Question: Will my sony laptop last?

Im going into freshman year of college. Ive had my current laptop since the end of 6th grade. I want to know if my laptop at the moment will last me untill the end of highschool. So please tell me if it can last another 4 yrs. or will computer technology change to much for it to handle even day to day stuff? I also play WoW pretty good. No lag in dalaran ( if you know what that is ) So if you play WoW, what would you think this thing would do in Caty?

Personally, I think you should sell that laptop and get a new one for freshman year.

It really depends on what you are trying to do on this laptop. If you are running hard core rendering programs, Brand new games (and want to run them at high specs), then you would need a new one, but if you are running basic programs such as Microsoft office, iTunes, and other mainstream programs you should be fine. Best of luck, and you have a pretty decent PC. :)

It might but I wouldn't chance it because it is already 6 or 7 years old and Sony hasn't been known for their long lasting computers, but I don't know because I am not sure of the wear and tear of the notebook itself, only you will know if it will last. First ask yourself a couple of questions. Is the computer fast enough for college, or is it going to take forever to do each assignment given? Or has it had any problems lately? Hows the battery life? Is the computer sluggish? Just think worst possible scenario, you have a 10 page paper due tomorrow and your computer fails. Do you want to take that chance or spend the money and get a new computer. You have been lucky to have kept the laptop running this long. That laptop would not be very good for playing WoW. It is already very old, and if you are paying $500, that is way too much. Pretty much any new laptop except for netbooks will be better at playing WoW. I doubt that laptop can play it at all.
