Can someone help me with my ubuntu laptop issues?
i was installing the 10.4 upgrade and it just stopped because it had too many errors, is there any way to fix it so it can be installed, also my other ubuntu laptop has sort of a problem, I was updating, but turned it off because i had to go to school, when i came back, all it had when I turn it on was a black screen with white words, it doesn't even take me to the log in screen, plz help

I am signed on to hotmail but when I try to connect to messenger I get the message 'Theres a problem signing into messener. Wrong graphics card driver installed on ubuntu laptop.?
i accidentally installed a nvida graphics driver on a old laptop which is running ubuntu 9.10. When i restarted my computer it boots up ok until it loads up ubuntu when the screen goes black. I know the computers on its just a black screen. is there anything i can do to revert the drivers back? thanks

I have an ubuntu 9.04 laptop. today I was doing work on my laptop, then there was an update that needed to occur, so I updated my laptop, and it said that I needed to restart my laptop, so I restarted it, and now my work computer won't connect to internet I'm working today, and am getting some angry customers trying to connect to me I tried running a usb ubuntu on my laptop, and it connects to my wifi fine, but my work files and programs aren't on the usb stick.My old wifi drivers were wlan0, but then that stopped working so I used ath0. I have an atheros wifi card. How do I fix this? Please help
Dell ubuntu laptop help!?
I am trying to install windows xp on a pre installed ubuntu dell c500 600 laptop but am having trouble. The xp cd is legit but the laptop wont boot the cd. I hear it trying to boot but then it goes right back to the ubuntu boot. I have tested the cd on my other laptop so I know it works and the cd rom works also.Does dell put a block on their ubuntu line of laptops?The cd drive is set to boot first and I even tried boot selection and chose cd drive.

okay, my laptop can have a wired and wireless connection at the same time, the computer i want to add to it mac OSX 10.3.9 doesn't have the airport card, i want to use my laptop to connect to the internet wirelessly, then plug my ethernet cable into the mac, and i accept it as a router, i have 3 4 ethernet cables and a router non wireless that i can use for this, so far, i can only get the mac about 10 feet away with the cables, i need it to reach about 50, so wired is out PS i only installed ubuntu yesterday, i have figured it out for he most part, but if it's anything in the terminal, i don't know Ubuntu's terminal just yet, just please in simple language, just no " the little circle thingy" i know about that. this is getting long
Transferring files from Ubuntu Desktop to Ubuntu Laptop?
Ok, here's the deal I have an older eMachines desktop with Ubuntu Karmic Koala installed. The desktop has about 52 GB of music plus a few pictures and documents which I want to transfer to my Dell Studio laptop which also has Ubuntu Karmic Koala installed . I also have an 8 GB and 2 GB flash drive.Here is my dilemma I want to get my music and other files from the desktop to the laptop. I have no crossover cables or anything like that available to me, and no money to get it at the time.I read online that files can be transferred via WiFi, but they only explained transferring from Ubuntu to Windows. Can anyone explain to me how to get my files to the laptop?Also, my desktop is directly connected to the modem router. My laptop is connected via WiFi.If this is not possible, HOW in the WORLD can I transfer files from Ubuntu to Ubuntu???? Without additional wires Thanks sooooo much in advanced Jpt Is that really the only way? I heard that WiFi would be faster. Or is that not possible in my situation?
