A friend of mine is letting me borrow their spare laptop. They never use it and have mentioned " giving" it to me. I would rather buy it from them. I have no idea of the age. Ok now I bought a used laptop computer,a COMPAQ PRESARIO 1200.?
The man said it won't connect wirelessly to a net work.I HAVE WIRELESS HERE AT HOME AND 2 desktop computers.I don't know very much about lap tops.Anyways he said I have to plug it into the internet connection.Everything on this laptop works fine except I can't connect to the internet.I have the adaptor plugged in and I PLUGGED IN a telephone wire into the computer but don't really know where to plug the other end of the wire.Do I plug it into the router or modem or straight into the phone receptacle.HELP I am at a loss.Also is the adaptor the only cord I need and a telephone cord.ok the ethernet cord won't fit into my lap top but a phone cord will so can I use a phone cord to connect from my computer to my router
