Anyone have any specific suggestions on fast photo/video editing laptops with lots of memory?
I am looking to buy a new laptop for video and photo editing. I would love to buy a MacBook Pro, as I know these are the best laptops for graphics and such. However, I can't justify spending that much when I can get a Mac desktop and get more bang for the buck. But I am too mobile student and work to get a desktop at this time.I've read a lot of reviews but can't seem to decide. Can anyone help me out and make some suggestions? Thanks P.S. I work on PCs at home and Macs at school, so I am familiar with each platform. Therefore, I am interested in only buying a PC at the moment.

I'm looking for a laptop that will allow me to play newish games but mostly allow me to edit 1080p video clips of moderate to long duration on sony vegas, Premier Pro and After Effects without taking ages to render.I need suggestions on what not to compensate on, what sort of hardware I should be looking for...I've eyed a Dell laptop that has the following specs Intel Core i7 2630QM Quad Core Processor 2Ghz with Turbo Boost to 2.9GHz Processor 4 Cores with 8 threads, 6mb cache 640GB Hard Drive 7200 rpm 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 Ram 2GB Nvidia GeFrorce GT 540M graphicsUltimate Questions Are the Graphics card and CPU stated good enough for my purpose?What would people recommend me?Does " quad core i7 2ghz" mean that there are 4 cores of 2ghz each.. amounting to a total of 8ghz of processing power? thats good isn't it? then what do the " 8 threads" and " 6mb cache" stand for?
Basic video editing laptop for under $700?
I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm looking for something that will handle Premiere decently and at least work with after effects. If I have anything heavy duty to be done, I can have it done at a workstation... Is there such thing as a laptop with a video card and duh, a dv port under $700?So, what will be pretty reliable and give me the most bang for the buck? besides a macbook, I know

Hi, I would like to buy a laptop for under $1000, but this is proving to be exceedingly difficult. There are compromises at every corner. What would you include or exclude for a video editing computer? 17 inch screen?2 gb ram?2.0ghz core 2 duo 667mhz fsb1.86ghz core 2 duo 533mhz fsb1.73ghz core 2 duo 533mhz fsbI was considering either an inspiron e1705 or a 1505, the differences being that the e1705 has a 17 in screen, the 1505 has 15, and the e1705 has a 256 nvidea 7900gs graphic card.I have a $500 coupon for both, but i can't seem to keep the price low enough on the e1705 and still have enough for at least a 2ghz processor and 2gb or ram. Is the video card on the e1505 good enough?

Cheap Video Editing Laptop/Netbook?
I'll just get to the point. Is there a Laptop or netbook i could buy for $200 or under that would let me create, burn DVD's, and store Videos? Or atleast one i could buy software and hardware to be able to burn DVD's and sutch?i dont need WIFI or internet or anything added, just a Device i can dedicate to creating and burning DVD's and Videos for under $200. i have a laptop Toshiba a505 s69804gb ram and Core Dou 2 T6600when i use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Plat 10 the CPU usage goes up to the 90 %s its usable but the minor lag is annoying. anyways what do i need to upgrade to make it faster, a better laptop or just more memory?CPU is 2.2 ghz BTW
Best Video editing laptop under 500?
I know i wont find the best laptop at this budget. Im looking for a laptop that will replace my desktop so size doesn't matter. I do a lot of 3d effects and video editing so i need a good graphics card. Im hoping for about min 4 gb of ram and a dual core processor because i also play games on it. I have a very tight budget so the less the better. Any Suggestions?
