I'm trying to narrow down the field and find a laptop for college, but the number of choices is simply overwhelming.I want something priced no more then 2000$ after updates. It should have plenty of memory I save a TON of stuff to my current laptop, and am planning on being an english major in college and thus will write a LOT of papers. It needs to be durable, but not too heavy lighter is better since I'll be carrying it around all over campus and in and out of my dorm room.It needs to be wireless enabled, and I prefer an intel core 2 duo processorThe graphics should be good, and it should be able to handle some low level gaming and watching movies. I would also like a DVD CD burner driveI would prefer a known, trustworthy brand name but not dell, I have a dell now and don't love it. I've only ever had dell, however, so I want something that's not too different and that I can still figure out. I like Windows XP, but could adapt to Vista if necessary. I want microsoft works to come standard but if I had to buy it it wouldn't be the end of the world. I would like good quality speakers and lots of room so I can download my music on itunes.I would like good customer service and support, and would prefer a laptop that I could see in person before buying.Something between 15 17 inches is preferable.It will be used for school, light gaming, video watching online and through dvds, and entertainment.I would like a minimum of 5 hours of battery life, and am willing to pay extra to reach up to 8 hours.I need something portable enough that it will fit on classroom desks or in a backpack with other books, but I do not want something tiny like a netbook.Do you know of anything that meets these specifications? I'm a community college student getting some basic stuff outa the way. I have been trying to find a computer that will last me for some time I plan on moving on to a university . Qualities that I'm looking for in this computer are stuff like processing speed, hard drive memory. RAM isn't a big necessity since most of my files will all be stored on a seperate drive.
