I don't even know exactly how I did it but,Ii made everything on my desktop and pretty much every program in my comp. is opened with itunes. Every program still works but it's opened with itunes and all the icons chenged to the itunes icon it's quite annoying i tried everything i can think of. There is nothing in properties that helps as far as i can tell. Please tell me how to fix this.

Can a customized battery plan on windows 7 laptop cause computer to freeze constantly?
I'm trying to figure out why my laptop keeps freezing up randomly and I've wondered if it's the battery plan I customized for it? I know there's probably memory issues that may be causing it but at the same time I believe some of the settings in the battery plan regarding memory may have been turned up very high. It hadn't started freezing up on me like this until about January or so and for the most part it would stop freezing long enough for me to use it after several hard reboots but the last two days I have not had that kind of luck. I have absolutely no idea what I did any of the previous times that may have allowed it to not freeze up so I can't duplicate the results but I have just now switched to the " HP Recommended" power plan and I have not experienced anything negative since, though I would prefer to use my power plan so that I can maximize performance and such. Is it possible that my over use of my power plan has caused some sort of problem with the memory or anything? overheating or something just from using too much of anything? I honestly don't know what it could be just that it's not the hard drive and it's not any virus or malware of any kind as I've scanned multiple times with no results. Any info will be appreciated as this is the one time I've had trouble with my computer that I haven't been able to find out the problem or fix it permanently. and please don't tell me to take it in to have it looked at, I will only do that if there's absolutely no way for me to fix it myself.well I understand that the RAM is a strong probability of why it's freezing but part of the question was that if I had all my battery settings regarding RAM set to maximum, which I believe most of them if not all of them are, would that either affect how the RAM is working, perhaps over working, or would it having been set to max for all this time eventually wear out or even damage the RAM to the point that it's freezing like this? I do believe it's probably RAM because the times it happens most often is when I have multiple programs open and usually one high memory program, though sometimes it happens just after startup or even BEFORE startup completes...additional information, I also attempted a few times to do a memory diagnostic and it had completed once on the " standard" setting with two scans and found nothing. I also attempted a few times and it would freeze during such scan, and I had also attempted to scan with the advanced setting with only one scan but it would stall at 21 % though the computer did not freeze most of the times as confirmed when I can still press F1 to get to the settings page so if that tells anyone anything important that might help me...I know that RAM is the likely cause but I've also noticed that every time it freezes, I have something plugged into one of my USB ports on the right side of my computer. Could that maybe be something related? could a bad driver for my wireless mouse or something be causing this?

Im looking at getting a laptop with Windows 7 on to run my Sims 3 game. I currently have it on my Macbook but that is getting on a bit and it keeps telling me my start up disk is full even through ive transferred all word docs and images to cds and got rid of stuff i dont really need so i have come to the conclusion it is the game and all its downloads. I would like to get a Windows 7 laptop so that I can have it just for that plus get hate world creator app that only runs on windows. Can some please tell me some good laptop brands to run the game on. I want some fairly cheep ones the less i have to pay the better but it still needs to be wifi enabled and have a fair amount of space. I want information on this nothing else. if you dont like macs fair enough but keep it to yourself.

I'm new to Ubuntu as I'm on a IT course and I'm trying to broaden my knowledge of different OS's.So here's what I've currently got. Ubuntu 12.04 desktop connected to a Windows 7 Laptop via a crossover ethernet cable.I can access the internet on the Ubuntu desktop via my laptop which is great My question is How do I securely connect Ubuntu with Windows.Ive had a look through the 802.1X security settings but I am unsure what the best one to choose is and how to set it up properly.I would ideally want maximum security but still have a decent reliable speed?if someone could help that would be sweetcheers in advancePlease note my primary use for the Ubuntu desktop is a backup computer for my files. And my wireless router is downstairs and I don't want to buy a wireless card for it as I know I can just plug it into my Laptop when needed.
